CHARLI XCX

“BOYS”

We flipped the male gaze in “Boys,” depicting Charli’s beloved men of the music industry surrounded by “millennial pink”, allowing their sex appeal to shine through everyday activities. Masculinity, playfulness, and cuddliness are not at all contradictory; in this video they coexist and commingle seamlessly.

KELLY CLARKSON

“I DON’T THINK ABOUT YOU”

We utilized a retrospective format to tell an empowering narrative of resilience, growth and evolution. We see Clarkson at different formative moments of her life as she grows up and learns to break free of every negative influence she thought was holding her back.

MIGUEL

“SIMPLE THINGS”

We used pristine blacks and whites to capitalize on the simplicity, power and soul of Miguel’s slow-burning “Simple Things”. Dire wolf Grey Wind (of Game of Thrones fame) runs down Hollywood Blvd, stopping only when he finally finds his mate on the beach – a metaphor for Miguel and his journey to his woman (played by Gigi Hadid).

ALOE BLACC

“LOVE IS THE ANSWER”

We focused on a single narrative to illustrate Aloe Blacc’s larger message in “Love is the Answer”. The video follows two young black men as they become products of their respective environments. The one who is embraced by his community flourishes, eventually becoming a lawyer. The one who is treated with suspicion ends up in prison. It’s not every day you see an artist use their music to poke a hole in the school-to-prison pipeline. Thanks, Aloe.
